What Is the Square of Nine
The Square of Nine is a spiral of numbers arranged in a grid, beginning at 1 in the centre and spiralling outward through each successive integer. Numbers geometrically related to each other — separated by 90°, 180°, or 45° of arc — also exhibit strong mathematical relationships in the market.
Using the Square for Price Targets
To find price targets, the analyst locates the starting price on the square, then rotates 90°, 180°, or 360° around the spiral to find geometrically related price levels. The 180° and 360° relationships are the strongest, representing the natural completion of a half or full cycle.
Time Analysis with the Square
The Square of Nine can also project time — forecasting when a significant turning point is likely to occur. When a future date identified this way also corresponds to an important price level, the analyst has found a high-probability price-time convergence zone.
Cardinal Cross and Diagonal Relationships
The Cardinal Cross at 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° and the Diagonal Cross at 45°, 135°, 225°, and 315° are the most important geometric structures within the Square. Numbers on the same cross form the most reliable support and resistance clusters.
The Square of Nine is not a calculator — it is a mirror that reflects the mathematical structure underlying price and time. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it in every market you analyse.
